Job Description

1. Works inside contained work areas for extended periods of time, wearing required respiratory equipment and protective clothing.
2. Removes hazardous materials following legislated & company guidelines and protocols.
3. Alberta Asbestos ticket is REQUIRED.
4. IICRC Credentials such as AMRT and WRT are a big plus.
5. Alberta Drivers license would be nice but not required.
6. Wage is $24.00-$30.00+ per hour depending on experience, safety training and relevant certifications. Experience leading a team of asbestos abatement workers is a must.

Duties:

1. Supervise abatement workers as well as performing all necessary duties of an abatement worker. Work with Project Manager to successfully complete jobs on time and with a high quality of work.
2. Load and unload materials, machinery and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
3. Erect and disassemble containments for work areas, safety barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
4. Install negative air equipment, showers, pumps or heaters in or near the containments.
5. Remove cabinetry, trim, fittings, doors and windows.
6. Assist in demolishing building interiors and exteriors using power tools and hand tools.
7. Remove hazardous materials following legislated guidelines and protocols.
8. Scrape, brush, or wipe down surfaces or structure inside containments to remove hazardous materials.
9. HEPA Vacuum & clean interior of containments as required.
10. Remove rubble and other debris at sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
11. Tend machines or equipment used at worksite such as air movers, air scrubbers, vacuums, portable showers and pumps.
